On my 82-70 the machine will not stop cycling through the table and sweep. It runs as if the if would when bowling but no will not shut off. If have swapped chasis and look for loosewires on camera board. Any ideas what might be causeing this?

Check your cushion switch and wires.Does it have ball detect triggering?Check your bowlers reset button.

What RICHG said. Disconnect cushion switch then check your ball detector.

It is getting a cycle signal from somewhere. Could be....

1. broken cushion start switch or missing spring, shorted wires
2. ball detect
3. shorted reset button wiring at ball return or bad wiring in the subway
4. rear control panel cycle button wires have short or bad button
5. If AMF scoring, problem with MIU
6. short with "10th frame switch" wires in A&MC box
7. I have also had this happen with a solid state chassis on the C2 plug, one of the cushion start swirch wires was shorting to a ground wire
8. if any added cycle buttons, check for shorts/grounds, etc..

Simple and obvious things first.... start with the cushion start switch then go from there.

I'd unplug the A & MC cable from the machine, short the two terminals that are next to each other on the 2nd row so it would come on and see if it still cycles. This will totally isolate the machine from all external sources.

I had this problem a few months ago, ended up to be a shorted wire between the machine and the reset button that runs along the ball return, damn mice!! I replaced the wire and things were good again.

we had the same problem at another place i was working at it turned out to be the ball detector (ball sensor the one that trigers the enitial cycle off the machine) the reflector plate was bent sending the beam of the sensor in a totally difrent place to where it was supose to go (my friends bad he stood ion it and forgot to tell me haha

hope this was anyu help to you if it made any sence at all haha

im not to good at explaining things on here

cheers
