I got one of them fancy little pins but for some reason I had to grind mine down a little to fit right. As I said earlier I am not a mechanic and don't want the job but don't have a choice with the help I get. I like to work on things when I want to not when I have to and one day I will get there.

forgot I put that damned thing in there and turned the machine on. I heard a little snap as the machine cycled...and there was a part of my brand new "fancy" timing pin stuck between the detector drive gear and the detector main housing. Had to take it back apart to get the piece out. Never did that again.
Hey Steve,
I did the same exact thing.
Just ONE time though!

Steve, I am glad I saw this... Check lane 12, I had to replace a detector (approx. 1995) and I used a bolt to check the timing. I forgot to take the bolt out and it broke. You might want to get it out (I left it in, it can't go anywhere). But you might want to take a look and get it out. :p (I'm serious)

I have to tell you guys, you had myself and another Brunswick Product Specialist laughing our heads off on this post. Just wanted to say thanks.

Also I have always pulled the detector at 90 and found it to be the best way to take out and install detectors.

Dale I do them at 270 setting new pins. Lots of room to get those x-washer pins off under there.

Randy...we pulled that detector out a few years ago and I remember Louie asking me about a broken bolt in the gear. I just laughed and told him to take a lesson from it. I told him I knew how it got there...but never admitted to doing it myself. Now he knows I did...

doesnt detect strike but will detect oor and pins one pin at a time. what do you do. ill give you a hint make no ajustments and dont change any parts. im not shure this is shown in school since they have no idea what causes this but you never know.

I'm just wondering where the answear is on this! If anyone knows let me know!I'm working with detectors now and I'd like to know!
