I made a slight mod to this pattern only because of the cleaning issue I was having.
50mic
19.25ml
2 2 2 14
7 7 1 18
8 8 2 18
10 10 3 18
11 11 2 18
12 12 2 18
2 2 0 22 27-42
reverse drop @ 35'
2 2 0 30 42-21
11 11 3 18
10 10 2 14
2 2 0 9-0

As posted in another section I was using Defense C and Infinity.
The Kings pattern was good just a little tight to start for my bowlers. I made the above mod and it opened up the outside a little more them and they just had to follow it as the pattern brokedown. A couple of days ago I switched to ACC cleaner and Reactor LL. The above pattern was flying from the start only because of the super clean backend. By the third game guys had to move only because it seemed the backends got stronger as the night went on. I had a 300 and 60 of 80 guys over 600, 5 guys over 500 after 2. Had a 300 on the same pattern in a womens league last night. I did try King's pattern for SPL's above with the Reactor and it is a nice shot, just ten pin city. I am going to try it again with reverse drop at 33' to see if it improves the carry. I am also going to try running my reverse drop at 37' on my modified pattern to see if it calms down the backends enough to hold the third game. If not, by looking at the scores so far this week, the bowlers will have to figure out the third game on their own.

1st let me start with the 1 2-2.... I am not a big fan of just 1 2-2, or 1 2-2 forward, and 1 2-2 reverse. I would like recommendations on changing your pattern to 2 2-2's forward. Would that remove the 5-5, and possibly the 6-6? How much different would it also play with moving the rev buff to 35', and the reverse moved back to 25 or 26' or so?

The difference between 35' and 33; RBD is amazing. If the lanes are tight just move it 2' closer to the foul line.

My Anvilane is tight. I can use 2-2 2 on my best league. In fact the 2-2 1 will over react for the good league. The 878 was shot in one of the weaker leagues.

King.... I am not sure that I made my previous post clear. I do think that it was way too open, and am looking to tame it down a bit. What are you using for your mens league, or stronger league currently? What is the purpose of the revers oil starting @ 21 ft, and as narrow as your 878 pattern is? I really like the ball reaction on the pattern.. but it is too strong. The only guys that can score are stand left/ throw right type players. We have a good mix of off the corner, down and inners, and big hookers. Outside in the heads seem to hook early for down and inners, and the like. Wouldn't it be better to put a 5-5 in reverse, or possibly a 2-2?

I use the same pattern for all the leagues. It is not too strong here because my surface is hooking.

2-2 1 18
5-5 1 18
6-6 1 18
7-7 2 18
8-8 2 18
10-10 4 18
12-12 2 18
2-2 0 22 30-41

2-2 0 30 41-23
11-11 3 18
10-10 2 14
2-2 1 14
2-2 0 10

ok king i put this pattern down on 1 pair of my wood lanes just to see how it played and I love it, exactly what i need to score, the carry was the best its been all year, unfortunately i believe it played a little slick for my bowlers, im wondering if its because i dont understand the advance buffer drop, when i read the settings off my machine it says it is set at 20, how do i get it set to come down at the 35 foot mark. thanks for the help!!!

Advance buffer drop is different from reverse buffer drop.

Put the advance buffer drop at the factory setting.

For reverse buffer drop you must have the latest software version in the machine. Go thorough the change pattern menu on the keypad and the setting is right after pattern distance if you have it available.

Why is that?

Because many bowlers expect your end pairs to be bad. If you burn them continually you will confirm their suspicions.

Ok King, got all the goodies in now and would like to try your 878 shot. Can you give me a conversion for wood lanes? I can tell I'm going to like the RBD option.

Ran the above pattern after the league left for a bunch of guys with different styles. We all seemed to think it was hard to get to the spot. The ball wanted to start a little too soon. Broke down sooner than before also. Seemed to move us too far left to get to the spot and if you missed right seemed to hang. I did change the first 2 forward loads from 18 to 14 speed before we bowled on it because I bowled on it in the afternoon and thought it needed a little more out. Like to get this pattern super easy and durable by Sat. for county Match-Play. Help please!!
