  • Throwing false smoke alarms

Heres a little tip its been freezing out lately here and I had a rooftop AC/heating lennox unit combo throwing a "04" smoke in the return vent.. Learned that if the clear plastic smoke detect cover is damaged and wont close tight it lets frost inside of it so when the heater kicks on the moisture in the smoke detect will set it off. Aldo if u have fogg machines blow out the filters by the smome detect while your in there
Keep an eye on it see if it does it again

Moisture is a fire detectors worst enemy I think (Ironically) I had an issue back where I had a really really REALLY light roof leak, right over one of my heat detectors - moisture got into the unit & kept setting our alarm off. 10 evacs later, & we finally realised what was happening.
