  • Problem with GS96 High Voltage Box

I seem to have a short or something frying this in my high voltage box. Changed out HV Box with spare worked about 30 seconds and fried another one. When this happens the shark no longer works. Any ideas ?
    Thanks in advance
you can see the top center one is cooked.

Not familiar with 96 boxes, but when something like that fries and the related component is inop, make sure the related component (shark) is not the cause. Physically check for crimped, chafed wires along the cable for the shark and/or do an ohms check with a voltmeter.

I agree with loadtoad. You can see in the picture that the transistor is burnt between collector and emitter. This indicates to much current flow through the transistor. You probably have a short in the shark. Bad coil perhaps or wires shorting together shunting the coil. Test resistance before putting in a new board or you get to put in yet another new board.
