General help
The MGC Chatbox Evo is really easy to use

You can :
  1. Send chats : you just have to enter the text in the dedicated input field and then to validate it by pushing the return key ou by clicking on the OK button.
  2. Format the chats :
  3. once you un-collapse the chatbox formatting toolbar by clicking on the BBCode button, you have access to different formatting options for your chats. You can format a chat by selecting a part (or the totality) of it and then select one of the buttons/list. You can also add empty formatting tags by selecting nothing and clicking one of the buttons/menu thus allowing you to add the chat text afterwards between these tags.*
  4. Access to the different channels : you can have access to different channels restricted to only some usergroupds or for specifics use of the chatbox. The different channels are accessible from the buttons on the left of the chatbox.*
  5. Edit your chats (or others chats) : the edition of a chat can be done by a simple double-click on it.*
  6. Use specific commands : some commands can be accessible in the chatbox depending on the will of the administrator(s) of your forum. These commands let you execute specific actions of formatting, management, etc... You will herebelow the information on the command which are accessible to you. You must notice that you are not forced to use the command prefixes (/command_name) when you use them in the channel they are attached to (except in the general channel).*
* : Depending on the settings chosen by the administrator(s) of the forum, you might not have access to all these features.

    Swapping 3QT's...

I am in a situation where I have lent a couple of 3QT's to one of my sister centers and have been having issues with them booting up. Does anyone know if there are issues that might cause problems with booting when the spare 3QT's are installed?

I know I need to push the programs to the replacement 3QT's as the software versions are slightly different due to a difference between 6 Box/F box. I have the F box while they have the 6 box.

I know of no way to be able to push the programs without first booting the 3QT...but I am seeing issues arise when trying to boot. They will not boot up even if I take them back to my center. Has me very concerned about lending 3QT's between centers now.

I am currently having a box come up with error code 208...F box failure. It can't see the F box because there are 6 boxes in the house?

    Any ideas?

    My center runs:6.11.02
    My sister center runs:6.11.02

Steve, looking at the 3QT manual that I have (I dont have the stuff here though) on page 103-104 it tells you how to enter the HW setup for the 3QT box, depending if you have keyboards or monitors. I think thats the info you need. I found the manual on the Qubica/AMF portal in the scoring section, 3QT installation manual.

Yes there has been issues with 3qt's booting up. Had a couple at a center doing this. Ended up replacing under warranty. Also make sure there is no other 3qts in center with the same serial number. They sent out a email once stating some had the same serial numbers. Not to use the number on the box but to use the number on the monitor when its powered up.

I've had many issues on 3QT boots where it hangs after turning on. It hangs at the blue screen with the color spectrum across the top, and goes no further from there. I've even left them overnight, and still same screen in the morning.

I swear, you just look at those things the wrong way and they crap out.

Actually, we have only had a couple of keypads fail, nothing else. I'm not counting the keypads as they get mashed on by customers I'm sure so that is expected.

Our only issues have been about 9 or 10 BT boards. (About 22 months.)...But most of those were on the same lane.

I had a few that appeared to be keypad failures...but it ended up being the ribbon cables coming loose at the keyboards. I created a "shim" from paper to insert between the connectors and have not had another come loose. Anybody else see this issue?
