  • LIU Turning on lanes all at once

I have advantage front desk. Whenever a range of lanes is instructed to turn on the liu fires all the lanes up at once instead of one at a time. I was told by someone there that before they switched the main computer out and put in a new lane that they used to turn on one at a time. Is there a setting i can change to fix this. I'd love to get it fixed so the electric meter doesnt go crazy when a league is turned on and also so i dont jump out of my skin when 26 back end motors start at once making me think someones shooting off a canon.

The machines usually all turn on in sequence - very quickly. It might just appear that they are all coming on all at once.
I've had enough of hope & chains.

It's been my experience that the LIUs turn all on at once too. When I had Advantage, all lanes lit up at once.

Thank you all for the replies. I guess i was just spoiled by the brunswick system where they turned on a little slower.

I guess not. Even though i know the lanes are going to turn on and very quickly hearing all the backend motors firing up that quickly still scares the daylights out of me. There's been times i literally jump when i hear them.

Our advantage used to do that also and the only thing that stopped it was the purrfect desk replacement.

The Boss system originally did the same thing. The first time the front desk fired all 24 lanes on, the building lights dimmed. I went to the front desk and requested that the desk only fire 6-8 lanes at a time. I was promptly told to mind my own business.

When the power bill came in, the owner hit the roof. It seems it was up $800.00 because of the DEMAND RATE based on surge current when they fired up 24 lanes. You see, you pay that max demand rate for the entire month. When I spoke to the owner, I explained that I had made a request to the front desk Not to do that and was told to "F" myself by the Manager!

The Manager was promptly informed that it will be done my way.............

AMF, soon afterwards, came up with a software fix that limited lane on signals to one/second.

I only wish there was a fix for dumb a$$ managers. But, even GOD isn't that good at fixing things!
