  • AMF BOSS 6.0 + Pinsetter Control

    Hi there,

recently, we had a crash of our Frontdesk computer and I had to replace both network card with an equivalent and hard disk with cloned one. After reconfiguring everything in the Backoffice everything seems to work well. Still, there is one issue: By turning on a lane the lane monitors turn on, the pinsetters light turns on, but the machines themselves dont do anything (backends, sweep, table..).
We are running AMF Boss Frontdesk 6.0 on Win NT4 with Accuscore XL 7.0 and AMF 82/90XL.
I can turn on the machines manually via the MCU or within Frontdesk (Pinspotter mode: on), so it's actually not a big deal. Still, I would be glad to solve this problem.
I observed that the machines start working if I turn the lanes OFF via Frontdesk - might be this is of any help..?

There is this Pinsetter type option in the Misc Settings in Backoffice. Right now it says 'other' instead of '82/90...', resulting in the error described. Changing it to the 82/90 option makes the pinsetter not even turn on its lighting on the pindeck (so just as above, but in darkness...), so I chose the other option.

I'd be thankful for any help of you guys.

    Greetings from Germany!

The pinspotter type should be set for 82/90. Change that setting to 82/90 then restart windows. The RS-422 converter should be plugged into COM 4 on the computer. If after restarting windows you stil don't have pinspotter control, check to ensure you are connected to the correct COM port (try them all if necessary). Check that you are correctly plugged into the MCU as well.

      Thanks Billy,
somehow after changing the setting to 82/90 and restarting EVERYTHING, reprogramming MCU and the like, it finally works again. Still I have another problem with Boss. As I had to replace the hard disk as well, all bowling presets (Open, League, Time Bowling,..) are gone and I had to redefine them. Now, Boss wants Bowlers to pay for Open Bowling (and we don't even use Boss for payment..). A friend of mine told me that it starts doing weird things if one deleted the Extra Frame setting, as I did. Somebody that can make a screenshot of the Extra Frame key so that I can redefine it? Or somebody willing to send me a backup of these presets? I don't want to reinstall completely...

If anybody should ever come across: I solved this issue by adding a large number to the Free Frames option. Boss only did the invoice for the practice shots that were bowled on the lane. And as we don't use a game limit preset, no problem for us...

I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches
I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...

        *sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....
