Does it happen while they are bowling or just in between games?

If it happens between games there is a setting for shutting them off after a certain period of time sitting idle. When it was installed it should have been set for 15 min. or so.
But if your place is anything like mine, too many people have their hands in where they don't belong and that could have been changed to 1 min or something stupid like that. If the setting is short enough it could possibly happen even in the middle of a game, if they are slow getting up to bowl. Usually to start them back up you have to hit the "Space" key on the keypad/touchscreen.
You don't have to be crazy to do this job...But it helps!

If it is not from the pinsetter inactivity time out like Cuda96 is suggesting, try swapping distribution boards with another lane and see if the problem follows.

It has happened to me before that someone crossing under the score computers on the curtain wall rammed their head into the cables from the underside. Check to see that the wire connectors are connected snug under the score computer (specifically the cables from the distribution boards). If the cable is not firmly connected with vibration, the lanes can loose their power.
