Scoring Foul When It Shouldn't

We are having an issue with a lane that is scoring a "Foul" even when the Foul Lights are turned "off". It acts exactly like we are fouling but we are not, sweeps the spare and all. Frameworks scoring. Any ideas?

Check your under ground cables from the pinsetter to the foul light, probably got ran over and shorted to ground.

Else, unplug from foul light(foul cable) and see if it goes away. If so, then the foul light is at fault.

Had this same thing last year. Unplugged the foul cables from the foul unit up front and it still scored "F". For a temp solution 'til I had time to dig into it, I unplugged the foul connector at the CCD processor board. Found the issue a couple of days later: the cable had gotten pinched between a filler board and the wood kickback underneath the dropsweep track and had worn through the wires insulation and they were shorting out.
