  • Installing a Solid State hard drive in a Shaver console

I have acquired a compact flash drive and IDE adapter loaded with Frameworx v6.3 software. We have the Shaver consoles and are running CenterMaster front desk. We have tried plugging the card with adapter into the I/O board, hooked up the 4 prong power connector to the adapter card and installed the CMOS board.

When powering up we get the initial beeps but never that final last beep where the LED on the I/O board lights up. Of course it's hard to tell if anything at all is happening because being that the drive is solid state you can't hear it spin up like a regular hard drive.

    Any suggestions?

Plug it into a computer with an IDE connector, power it up and see if the drive is recognized. You may have to go into the BIOS on that computer if it does not auto detect. If it is recognized, you should be able to see files/folders on it.
