something different
I had one lane the other day with bowlers on it after I did a distributor adjustment. was watching the machine when they threw a ball. the sweep came down on 1st ball and stopped. no table or sweep run and the back end motor shut off. sweep and table cams would not work. has omega tek chassis's and the sweet and table buttons would work on them. I unplugged the machine. checked c-1 connections and plugged it back in. the machine started running fine. Now for a couple days it worked great. then today it started acting up again. If you threw a gutter ball it would go to second cycle. then the sweep would drop and sweep all the pins and set a new rack and go to first ball. Thought had to be chassis so changed it. Still did it. Changed the fbox and the problem has gone away. will post more after a couple days of seeing how it works. Just wanted to share this info in case anyone has this problem.Tags: None

Well see here's the thing... I'm still a little new to the 3QT but from what I understand this is how it works.
On a first ball gutter, the camera looks at the pins to see if any have fallen, if not it won't cycle that machine and instead will switch it directly to second ball. For this feature to work there is some wiring involved going from the fbox to the machine to step it to second ball. Also the fbox has to be setup properly to enable this. The fbox cannot switch ball cycles on the machine unless it is wired to do so, ours is not hooked up to do that. So the problem above, if this feature was enabled and wired to the machine, switching the fbox (which seems to have fixed it) makes sense. Now if this is happening without the fbox wiring or the feature being enabled, then I can't explain that as it does not make sense.
What kinds of issues are you having with the 3QT? We got ours in October and besides some very minor ball detector adjustments, and a few reboots, it is very solid and hasn't had any real problems at all. We have found that rebooting the 3QT usually fixes whatever is going on, and it hasn't happened that much at all. If it does not fix it then something else may be going on such as a bad component or wiring issue between them.

Not sure who it was but ours is 1/50 SS chassis (and table wires), then 9 more lanes of MPs (no table wires). All of the lanes have fboxes but since we can't really use the advanced features on 1/50 they are setup for 6 boxes.

*sigh* Hello friends..
I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Adapting the Bluffton end cap & terminal board kit to Franklin BE (and FE) motors.
Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…
I’ve already repaired a a number of Franklin FE motors using the Bluffton-style end cap and terminal board kit (090-004-582)....

Turret clutch rebuild
At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
Thanks...

Solderless relay conversion
Is anyone running the solderless relays on the accelerators? How do you like them? What brand? How difficult to convert was it? Would love the feed back as I'm about to switch...
