Can't open Lane

I have a lane (lane 10) that I can not open up for either open bowling or league style bowling. It comes up saying lane is unavailable. I have Qubica Conqueror scoring on AMF 82-70 single board conversion also with short cycle conversion. I can open up lane 9 as single lane then merge 9 and 10 together as a pair. I can open up any other lane and transfer to lane 10 and it works fine. Also have BLS auto scoring hooked up to scoring. When we go to send league rosters to lanes for league it can not be opened up on 9 and 10. But if I open it up on another pair and transfer to 9 and 10 that works too. So trying to figure out why I can't open up lane 10 by it's self from front desk. We have tried to reset lanes and no change. Any help would be great.

It's sounding like you have a software problem. Did this start happening after Q did an update?

I had a chance to ask our GM this am, and she has not had or seen a problem like that, yet.

Just wanted to update you guys. We had the same problem happen again a week later on another pair. We traced it back to the the BLS league interface. The league that we have programmed into the system had a screw up on the league set up. So it was locking up lanes. We went back and erased all the scores from those two days and everything went back to normal. The BLS program was locking up the system.

That's unusual. BLS interface is specific to each scoring system and how the handle the names, type of scoring, length of names, what parameters can be sent to the scoring type. If you send a league from the BLS lineup file, the same information (parameters) get sent to all the lanes. A league setup shouldn't allow a failure. BUT - perhaps the BLS is an early version during the year it is shown as. Seems CDE releases beta versions as the new years update, then over the next 6 months, has 15 or 20 updates to take care of all the bugs found by early release users.
For instance, if a league was set up as a 9-pin notap, but the scorer didn't support it, then you'd get something wierd happening.
Other than that, I would double check one of a few things:
1. A different software version in lane scorers
2. A wrong checkbox on the scoring setup screen in BLS or,
3. A corrupt lineup file in the front desk Secy file folder.

Sorry guys, I should of given more info. The league we had is a two man team league. They bowl two games on a pair of lanes then move to another pair and bowl two more games. We have a odd amount of teams. So on the vacant team the secretary had nothing there for names, not even vacant. For some reason that I'm still not totally sure of. When the BLS program was moving the vacant team to the second pair for the night it was locking up the pair that team was going to. It was acting like it was still waiting for information on the team. So the secretary was going to put in two vacant spots for the team instead of leaving the screen blank.
