  • Conq. Pro "BOOT 208"

Hey there, I have Conq Pro, Fbox. Girl told me last night that a lane was having scoring issues (giving strikes only when people knocked down 3, really descript). Anyways, I checked the camera in tech setup and everything appeared to be fine. BUT, at the camera and infrareds, the second set of sensors always remain on.

8-----8 <--- First set of infrared sensors
    ---C--- <--- Camera
8-----8 <--- Second set of sensors.

What I mean "always stay on", is that the indicator LED in the back of the optic sensor will always stay lit. NOT just when the beam is broken, always. Cleaned everything off, the sensors, and the reflectors. No go. I decided to reset the FBOX on this pair. And now I have an error on that pair saying "BOOT 208".

Anyone got any ideas so I don't have to spend $99 on a phone call that usually don't help?
Thanks in advance for any help!

EDIT: I see Error 208 Impossible to communicate with F-Box (6) on the tech reference page. Fbox looks fine. All the normal lights are the same as any other pair. Should I power cycle reset the F-Box and go from there?

If the light on the sensor alway stays on mean your sensor most likely out of adjustment. I dont have F-box but it couldnt hurt.

Of the 4 conductor wire connecting the lane computer to the rest of the parts (LCOM), the 2 outside wires, white and black, are power. So you may get LEDs as the F-box is getting power. The green and red are the wires carrying the communitations to all the parts.
A common issue is wires either damaged by a ball on the track or down the leg of the machine, or drooping down under the camera getting hit. So a visual inspection is first.
Next, check the connections on the LCOM wires at the VDB (or which ever lane computer you have) and the Fbox. If the red / green are shorted anywhere, though, you could get the same error as the boot stops at the first part it cannot communicate with.
So you can unhook the red / green, or unplug the LCOM on the camera to see if the boot goes past the Fbox. If it doesn't, the Fbox may be bad.
Since this started at the camera with sensors out and scoring issues, the camera board could be shorted within.
This post is not an unpaid promotion of my business.

I had to leave last night before I could take a better look at it. I re-uploaded all of the lanes this morning before our USBC inspection. And what do you know? BOOT 208 was taken off of that pair and they work now. And the LED problem was what Dothan had said, I haven't had to manually move the sensors before. A little movement and they all work fine. Thanks for the help!I just find it odd that they both went out at the same time, probably one of the front desk girls kicking the shroud around the cameras.
