  • pulling my hair out daily A22 dripping after 20 lanes with new absorbant pad

hey all looking for why my A22 machine drips constantly after 20 Lanes. i have a new absorbant pad and its cleaning well its just that the pad keeps filling up at 20 lanes. it really sucks that I have to pick the machine up after 20 lanes to wipe the dang thing and start again. its got a new buffer and the dispersion roller has been adjusted several times to try and help keep the buffer from spraying so much. Also im only running 65 units in the heads and 55 midlane and 30 on the end of the pattern in the middle. The drips are always in the middle. using A22 oil on wood lanes. any help would be greatly appriciated.

We had a regional tournament here two years ago and they brought one in brand new and it leaked all the way across the house
and the lane guy told me I needed to get rid of my k+ and get one of those and I said no thanks.

Dripping is not normal, especially with the amounts you"re using. Is the crush adjustment correct?

Are you sure that the dispersion roller motor is actually running and that the roller is working right? I had an issue with the chain on ours a couple years back that caused the roller to not rotate at all and it dripped oil like crazy. Also make sure you're cleaner pressure is adjusted to recommended pressure. Anytime my cleaner pressure spikes, the machine drips more than normal, and I mean it has more conditioner drips for some reason.

everything on the machine checks out as far as buffer crush and dispersion roller. cleaner pressure is normal. What seemed to make it worse is one of the Brunswicks techs came out and helped me install a new buffer and he made all the adjustments as far as crush and dispersion roller to buffer adjustment. now when we put that buffer in it seemed to have gotten worse. i have checked and double checked everything. it is just saturating the rubber peice we have to put in and yes we squeeze it out everytime we put it in. i have double checked the book adjustments and all check out perfect did they change something? also want to note that this is a pba machine from the tour so it has a lot of miles on it.

On our machine, when we had oil drips, we found that the fitting that goes into the large oil filter was the problem. I finally replaced it, after trying several types of fittings, with a compression fitting that fit the hose. Since then, no more oil leaks. If you're unhooking the different cleaning lines from their fittings, two things to watch out for. The first is to make sure that when you put the hose back into the fitting, you cut off the end that was in the fitting, make sure that it is square, and then MAKE SURE that the hose goes ALL the way into the fitting. We found that even though the hose seems to be in all the way it was not. We still had leaks from a fully unseated hose. The only other dripping we get is as the machine goes forward, the air movement through the machine causes the cleaner spray to get blown towards the rear and collect on the recovery tank. After x amount of lanes the drips appear. To stop the drips we put a rag under the tank for x lanes and then flip or change as needed. The only other thing to watch out for, is to keep an eye on the two metal tubes that go into the cleaner tank. After a period of time the cleaner will start to eat through them and trhen they break off. We put stainless steel tubing in when we found this problem.

ok i want to stress that this isnt a leak out of any fitting they are all tight. this is dripping from the absorbant wiper no hoses or fittings. all the pressures are right. when we take the rubber pad out to squeeze it it is dripping very badly. its oil getting sprayed up from the lane on to it. again there are no leaks as this machine has all high pressure fitting already on it sorry if i didnt say that earlier. now do you see why this is making me lose my hair. I dont like the transfer system i mean have you ever had to pick up a kegel machine after 20 lanes to wipe it down no. this thing just cant do this many lanes with out the need to wipe it down. its almost like running a chairman or a silver bullet or summit as you were always haveing to pick them up and wipe them down.

if i have a flash light after i run so many lanes i can look under the machine from the foul line and see it drip. its oil and its coming from the foam pad no where else.

Call the guy that did the work and tell him to fix whatever he did.

Ive tried. plus it never really was what i would call right anyway. it has dripped ever since before i got here. the worst part is the approaches are still wood and they look like hell from before i got here.

You should call into Brunswick and ask for a Product Specialist for A-22. I don't think they would charge you anything if their tech had worked on it and it still had issues. Too bad it didn't get a fix before you got there. Now you don't know all the history of the issue, or all the resolution steps that have been taken. But I do know they want you to be happy with the product.

the biggest issue is that it was used when we got it as it had been on the pba tour and i know alot of those lane men didnt reall take to good a care with thier machines. so i have no history with the dang thing.

try soaking the foam in lane cleaner (about 8 to 1) over night. we had that problem when we switched from a22 oil to logic. I was told since logic is thicker the foam dosn't absorb as well, by soaking it in lane cleaner over night it opens the pores in the foam.hope this helps.

ok so here is what i have found this week. If you all of a sudden notice your machine is dripping from the foam pad more than it ever should you might need to check the buffer fuse. when we put a new buffer in and made a small adjustment it must have been a touch to tight on the belt and ended up popping the fuse. The funny thing is is it did start dripping alot more than it did before bt the shot never changed. the machine ran normally and the buffer did rotate because it was on the lane but was only going the speed of the machine. Now that that is fixed i threw on it and it was viturally the same. im just hoping that it quits getting in to the foam strip so bad i have to change it or squeez it every 24 lanes. fingers are crossed and will find out tonight.
