  • Oil Injectors

My A22 is not really oiling the outside RHS the same as the LHS even thou the pattern is the same on both sides, when I do oil injector test what should it look like, should it be a 45 degree pattern across the lane and then back again a couple of times, now when i do this the outside 8-9 boards have no injector spray, but when i oil a lane it is putting down some but not enough, I have checked buffer brush height and it is correct and the same both sides, what is strange in that area is the absorbent foam next to buffer brush on that side is saturated in oil?

    Any ideas?

yes it should be at a 45 degree zig zag pattern. Each injection on the lane should have 5 dots in a star formation. if you're not seeing this, then it sounds as if you have a bad injector or 2. The oil may be spraying in a different direction instead of on the lane. perhaps there is some build up on the injector or the tip of the injector.

That zig zag pattern is the machine firing each injector, one at a time, left to right and then right to left as it is traveling forward (hence the zig zag). The 5 dots or "paw print" is the injection pattern from one injector. Each of these paw prints should look ~ the same in terms of size and volume. If an injector is not firing, you will see a gap between two injection marks. If you have 8 injectors not firing, I would look at your cable connections for the injector boards. Each injector pcb controls 8 injectors. You should check the plugs inside the main compartment where they go into the Electronics enclosure, but also check the ribbon cables that plug into each board inside the electronics enclosure (check both ends of each ribbon cable - they should snap and lock onto the pcb's)

You could also check to make sure the machine is not being turned off with pressure in the conditioner line. If this happens you will push oil out of the injector tips causing a small "bubble" of oil to form on the tip of the injector. The result is that when you oil the lanes, the injector cannot push the oil through the "bubble" and it gets bigger as the oil adds to it. Eventually, it will drop off and you will see big drops of oil on the lane. This is easily fixed by dabbing the injector tips with a clean dry cloth to remove the oil "bubble". It is prevented by double checking the pressure guage for the conditioner system before you shut the machine off. Normally the software should tell it when you are on your last lane and it should depressurize when it is returning.

Another area not realted to the injectors would be to check the brush adjustment to ensure it is even from side to side and also the dispersion roller adjustment to ensure it is contacting the brush evenly when the brush is down.

Let us know what you find . . . .

Cleaned all the injectors and problem solved, this kinda makes sense now and explains the drips on the lane and the excess oil that is being slung around by the buffer brush.

        Thanks for your help
