A couple possibilities I see as I was running mine today. The keypad is worn out and is depressing multiple buttons. The wires to the relays are loose and causing a short when energized or you have a stuck relay. Try moving the relays around to see if the problem moves to another circuit.

Do you have your thumb on the start switch on the handle?

    Phoenix Pad Machine Wind/Unwind problem

My Phoenix 8 pad machine has sprung a rather confusing problem. Here is what happens. Plug in the machine, and press menu to cycle through the prompts like you would to reset the paper counter, or enter the managers password. When you get to lino ctrl & reset, the paper unwind motor starts running. You hit menu again to Phoenix start menu, and the unwind motor turns off, and the wind-up motor turns on. To get the wind-up motor to turn off, you have to cycle all the way through the menu back to Phoenix start and then it turns off. What gives!?
