  • Transfer brush--how long does it last?

I forgot to call Kegel, so I thought I'd post on here. Does anyone know when the transfer brush should be changed in the lane machine? I haven't seen or heard anything about it, so I was just wondering. Thanks in advance.
I got it fixed--too bad it wasn't what I was trying to fix.

I don't know anybody that's ever had to change one.

I heard of this, don't know how long or the symptoms when they are bad.

Our crossfire is five years old and we changed ours late last year as it just didn't seem to retain the oil in the brush well, it began really throwing the oil around in the direct areas around it and occasionally dripping on the lane and approach when it was in the raised position. Once changed all the issues dissapeared.

I did read somewhere in the manual I think that Kegel reccomend a change every couple of years but it would obviously depend on usage.

A good rule is every other time you replace your blue buffer brush you should consider replacing the black transfer brush.

I've talked to the guys at Kegel and they told me that at my center ( 24 lanes oiled twice a day ) I should change the brushes every 18 to 24 months.

I wouldn't replace it until the ends become frayed and no longer hold the oil properly. It also depends on what surface you have.
