  • Phoenix S Model C "Duster cloth empty"

I keep getting a message every few lanes stating duster cloth is empty. The micro switch is pushed in. Could the switch be bad?

I had this after I changed to the cushion wrap and it was larger in diameter. My people like to push the mach. on the lane while pushing the button the first time. ( timing error will think it's empty)

Did it just start out Of the blue or was something replaced recently?

That sounds about right. I did have the cushion replaced not too long ago. What should I do to fix this?

Did you put the original style roller on or put the cover with the wrap on?With the machine laying down on the approach and the cloth loose, manually raise and lower the cushion roller by hand. It should mOve completely free. Raise and lower one side at a time. Also you should have about 1/16" free play side to side. Add or remove the nylon shims to achieve that. Check the duster arm where it mounts to the frame. This spot is often over tightened and deformed, which can causevthecarm to bind against the frame.

I took the back cover off the squeege motor and told my people to hit the button on the approach, and wait for the click of the motor before pushing on the lane.(both squeege and duster are down) If you bounce the duster while pushing it on the lane it will error.

Are your dustermotor brakes working fine, sometimes when machines get older the gork on the motorbrakes get greasy and slippery which cause them to turn a little, just enough to (de)activate the switches. what is your default unwind time??

                *sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....
