  • Walker / Ion Charging Issue - Pro Tech Charger

I plugged my Walker in yesterday at noon

I walked back at about 4pm to check on something in the back

The lights were not lit on the Pro Tech charger - bad fuse

    The fix was a simple:
    1. Take the screws out of the 110vac receptacle end of the charger
    2. Pull end cover off
    3. Under the receptacle there is a 10amp fuse
    4. Replace fuse
    5. Replace cover

As a note - there are 2 different screws holding the end cover on - 2 short on the top of the cover - 4 long on the end

Same size and type as the 10A fuse used for the buffer?

Your basic 10amp fuse - that is what I put back in

You will also find a 25 amp bladed fuse on the DC side of the charger under the blue cover. If you have power on the charger but nothing coming out check this fuse. Another important thing is to make sure that the AC power cord is plugged into an isolated circuit. This will prevent the fuse on the AC side from blowing. I've also seen this fuse blow while it is plugged in during a lighting storm. Hope this additional information helps along with what's already posted.

I actually had the same thing happen to me the other week. Replaced the fuse on the AC voltage side and all has been good since. I used a ceramic fuse becuase that was what was originally in the unit for me.

I had one that lost the cooling fan, and then the 10A fuse. It was covered under warranty.
