  • Kustodian blew fuses

My guy called me on Saturday saying the oil machine will not run T1 code forward error. Checking everything found that 3 fuses blowed. Conditioner pump, and all speed fuses. After looking for the problem I found that the drive board is completely burnt up???? before I replace should there be anything that could of caused this? This is one of the first kustodians. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks

Just a guess, the older drive motors leak gearbox lube into the motor area shorting them out. Conditioner pump does'nt make sense.

Did some one spill something in the machine?

We had a problem earlier this year with our Kustodian ION. When the machine is standing up, it is possible for residual fluids to run down the cleaning tank and into the electrical components . We lost our speed board . Kegel was able to send us a new board overnite, but it was a $900 lesson. We keep a rag on the tank to keep any drops from falling down underneath the lid.

Did you perhaps mean the recovery tank A2bobwj? the cleaner and oil tanks are behind the splash-guard on my ION and no where near the electronics. Not saying they couldn't have moved things around on later machines.

When you take the recovery tank out plug up the hose going to the squeegee. It will usually drip a few drops when you stand the machine upright.

            Now for a hypothetical situation:
First a big IF, the set up is the same on your Kustodian and my ION, and the duster cloth ran out. They changed the duster cloth and did not place the cleaner head back in to the block but left it ontop of the recovery tank. I've lost two speed control boards this way. I then plugged the holes around the board and fabricated a splash-guard and sealed everything with silicone.
When you know what to do, everything is easy.

Had a similar problem a few years ago. One of my guys was a bit careless when filling the cleaner tank. Would spill cleaner on the dash and short out the speed adjustment board. Went through 2 or 3 in short time. Now that he is gone, no more problems.
