  • What's a fair price to pay for a used Phoenix C Lane Machine

    Hello,

Does anyone have any opinions on what a fair price for a used Phoenix C machine is. Reseller says most major parts are being replaced. Is this even a machine worth considering? His asking price is $10K.

    Thanks.

I have a Phoenix C and like it. Mine is at least 12 years old, and if it had been taken care of properly it would have no issues. But as to price, I'm not sure. 10k seems high, but I have nothing to base my opinion on.

I'm not sure what the C model is but I would make sure it has sanction technology and not pads. If you are going to pay that kind of money you don't want pad oiling! JMO

I agree with Popeye, I got a beat up Sanction Standard AC for $9000.00 but had to replace 3-4 motors, water pump, spray knozzles, normal stuff, squeege blades, buffer brush, cushion roller. Also some small things. Probably $1500-2000 but now it is a good rebuilt machine.

I'm pretty sure its a pad machine. What's the advantage of the sanction machine?

Sanction technology (fluid metered not pad) is all you should consider)

ST is accurate and can hold back the balls of today

              Value:
              10K - Too high
8K - If the machine is as nice as they say is great and they drop it off and help you set it up
7K - If you have to travel to get it otherwise or the machine has not ran in 6 months

I bought my 8 pad machine 5 years ago for $1000. It had been in a center that had burnt up front but the machine was in the back. I had to buy a cord, new buffer brush, wick pads, and it had electrical issues. Kegel talked me through fixing the electrical issues and I have used it everyday since. Depending on what you use now, even pad technology can be a huge upgrade. I went from a Century Stripper, C100, and a C300 to my Phoenix and made a huge difference at my center.

10 seems a bit high, seeing as you're in Canada I'm not sure if that changes things. In the US 10 is high. I'd be in the 7 range and for a little more you could get a used Sanction Technology machine. Also it depends on what's included in the package as well.
