  • Tweak needed

Just had the USBC in to tape the lanes for the Women's State tournament and found that I am not getting enough oil on the outside down lane. What can I do to tweak this pattern to get what I need without effecting the shot?

Also would there be any benefit to uping the oil stream to 50mic?
I see alot of the patterns from Kegel are using this, and I have some bowlers that would like to try them out.

Changing to a 50mic stream would be 30% more oil.....and make 3 units.....we can do it....let me know if this works

      Thanks King

I'll find out on Monday how much this affects the shot. Hopefully sooner to find out if it meets the USBC certification.

I am seriously thinking about moving to the 50mic stream, and will need to tweak this pattern and our open play pattern so that most bowlers won't notice a big difference.
Unless I should wait and do it after the season? But I would kind of like to do it now so I can judge the difference and not have to worry about making changes right at the start of the season again next year.

      Any thoughts?

There is only 8 or 9 weeks left in the season - I am confident that I can make a nice pattern - but I would try the tweaked pattern first....let me know

Just got the tapes back...Much better but still a little light on the outside. Down at 40' where he is taking the tape I am about 2 units on the 3 & 4 board, I need at least 3.

Can I move the load down the pattern and make it work?
Put it in between the 9-9 and 10-10 instead of between the 8-8 and 9-9?

I will see about changing over to 50mic next week but I need the tweak for tomorrow morning. The guy is going to be back to take another reading then.

One issue...you are oiling in reverse back to 3 feet

Your total volume on the 40 mic is 21.48

Here is the 50 mic pattern:
                21.55 total volume

                2-2 2 18
                7-7 1 18
                8-8 1 18
                9-9 9 18
                10-10 2 18
                11-11 3 18
                12-12 2 22
                2-2 0 22 28' - ?

                2-2 0 30 ? -28'
                12-12 1 22
                11-11 2 18
                10-10 2 18
                9-9 2 18
                2-2 0 14 9-0'

I have the Kosi program and when I plug in the current pattern it comes up with 20.8. I bet if it was the 21.48 that you come up with I would be fine on the outsides.
Do you compute the volumes differently than Kosi? I don't doubt that you are correct, but trying to get a better understanding of this whole process so I don't need to "bug" you every time I need to make a change.
