  • Phoenix pad machine help needed

Mr King, I just had my wood lanes resurfaced and I am in need of some advice. With the new surface and finish my lanes seem to dry out very quickly, much faster than before. I have a Phoenix 8 pad machine, cleaner is weaker than you recomend (Defense c 9 to 1) Brunswick Absolute Control oil. I will post my pattern tomorrow if need be, but I am thinking of lengthening the time on for where the lanes dry too fast. I want to run the 5 - 10 pad longer on the return run and bump the pattern distance one foot to 45'. Am I going in the right direction?

Post your pattern please - more finish = bigger footprint for ball = more hook

This will probably bite me in the butt, but I think I have got it for now. I lengthened my buff distance by a foot and ran pads that covered drier areas on the lane down lane farther. Oil seems to be holding up decent for wood lanes and what my Phoenix can do. When I need help I will be back Jerry. I have been paying attention to what you have said about this topic!!!

Good job - if you think about how you want the ball to react - the adjustments become easy to make

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.

        Thanks...
