  • Looking for ideas on Tough Tournament pattern.

Lane Machine : Kustodian+ Transfer Brush Drop Brush
    Lane Conditioner: TechLine Synergy (IIRC)
    Lane Cleaner: TechLine Oxyshock
Lane Surface: 12+ year old HPLs

Format: 6 games of qualifying, cut to top 16 (based on 64 entries). Round of 16 and 8 will be 2-game total pinfall elimination match play, seeded based on qualifying scores. Remaining 4 bowlers will bowl stepladder finals.

Want a longer length pattern (42+), flatter left to right ratio, and a low-medium-low scoring pace.

Any ideas or suggestions on what to use. US Open is always a given for low scoring pace, just was thinking about something different..
Go with an established WTBA or PBA or Kegel pattern or are there others out there that I have not seen or heard of?

    Thanks,

    Joe

    Why a long pattern?

When you run a long pattern the place to start off is inside - then the lanes burn up in - then the only people left standing at the end are the young power players

With a long format and many players - and I assume no re-oil - start off with a 38 foot pattern - and let them migrate in - this way the oil may last most of the day

Let me know and I will build you a pattern

Jerry is right, you are just about guaranteeing high rev high ball speed will win using a long pattern. Once the middle starts to burn those are the only players that will find good ball reaction and pin carry... everyone else will have to thread a needle to strike.

All the collage teams that practice here are using these patterns, and we use them sometimes for our bi-weekly scratch sweeper tournaments.

I think we are going to go with the London Pattern. Thanks for the suggestions!

                Good morning,
I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches
I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...

                4:1 Timing off..

                *sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Adapting the Bluffton end cap & terminal board kit to Franklin BE (and FE) motors.

Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…

I’ve already repaired a a number of Franklin FE motors using the Bluffton-style end cap and terminal board kit (090-004-582)....

Is anyone running the solderless relays on the accelerators? How do you like them? What brand? How difficult to convert was it? Would love the feed back as I'm about to switch...
