Bowled the team challenge in Erlanger, KY this weekend. The bowling center was nice except a few things.
1. Pins were so bad and mixed you never could get a good signal on how you threw the ball. Maxes and amflites mixed.
2. If you have bowled this tournament before you know how dry they get....lane 1 had a 3 foot drop off right next to the approach...try to play 28 and not fall over or let it effect your perefial vision...they should have never allowed this.
3. It was a 64 lane center. 32 lanes on each floor...we bowled on the top floor....DUH...heat rises even in KY. It was a hot day and inside the center was so frekin' hot I formed a mushroom under my armpit. How much intelligence would it have taken to run it downstairs....DUH.
Until the people who run tournaments get smart our "sport" will continue to slide into recreational status where they will put air hockey on ESPN instead of us.
Cmon ABC get with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Disgruntled King
ps. Lane conditions were hard...only thing they did right!
team challenges are my "vacations"...lol my only chance to get away from my screaming kids (82-70's)
ive bowled in pittsburgh, chicago, atlanta, baltimore, and staten island. most centers are the bruns showcase centers. i think the KY stop is one of the few exceptions.
and the one thing that pops to mind about usin the second floor was (assuming the entrance was on the first floor) was so the center doesnt loose open play....and the open play crowd doesnt walk thru botherin the BWTT bowlers
Hey guys! After building my lane 10 years ago I had to relocate for work and could not take my lane. It has been in storage ever since. I finally was able to bring it down...
I am currently having some issues with my lane 5. The table is too low at the home position. This is causing pins to completely fall out when they try to drop into the pin cups...
Saw this on the back of one of the machines at work. Looks like something you'd find in a box of Lego's, but it has the old amf triangle logo in the middle, just...
One of my lanes hasn't been indexing past the 1-7-10 occasionally mainly the 7 pin when they call a 180 we go over and tap the pin down then the turret indexes. Any ideas?...
