  • Kickback removal question..

Hello :-) we have a wooden kickback that needs to be replaced asap. We have Armor Frame Kickbacks for A-2 pinsetters on truss foundation. We need to replace the entire wooden insert panel. My question is..has anyone done this before and if so..what are the steps in order to do this? Much help appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Chip

A good start is to use the search function.

Done it many a time. They have to come out the front, after removing the noseblock and taking the pinsetter weight off the top steel plate. There should be a lag bolt in from the bottom in the front, as well as 2 on top, screwed into the insert.
Make sure you block the deck so a floor jack under the deck will put the pressure on the frame, remove the flat gutters to get access to the bottom lag bolt.
On this web page, you can see how we take the weight off the kickback to remove an entire wood one - with an insert, you only have to raise that side of the machine a half inch.

These kickbacks had to be taken out the back as they are full wood from the A to A-2 conversion.
it's about 2/3 the way down on the page. Look for Terre Haute Bowling Center (flood repair)
If the bad insert is on the ball return side, you'll only need one jack.
