Armor Slide
Does anyone here use Brunswick Armor Slide for their synthetic approaches and how do you use it? We are currently using this denatured alcohol from Home Depot that comes in a blue can for the slide area and spotting then use Brunswick Dry-slide every other day or so. I'm trying to find something else to use thats better for high humidity conditions. Thanks!

Armour Slide was too dangerous for us, and we too suffer with a decent amount of humidity... I'd stick with the denatured alcohol, dry buffing and make sure the cleaner is correctly cleaning the players area vinyl.Factory & Converted A-2 (US, Ger, Jap)

I have Slide Powder
Here is how I use it:
1. Use a 24" dust mop - not the one you use for the approach dusting
2. I shake the powder on the 2 shakes every 4 lanes
3. I gently put the mop back down on the approach - no in the slide area - always on a seam
4. I then make about 4 passes over the slide area - changing direction - I make one pass close to the foul line - and one pass next to the original pass
5. After I have worked the powder into the slide area only - very well - I go get the 48" approach mop
6. I then dust the dots area close to the ball return and make 2 passes over the powdered area of the approach - making sure not to get any close to the dot area or ball return
Things to be cautious of
1. Make your mistake with less powder - not more
2. If you can stand on one end of the approach and see any huge powder marks you have too much in that area
3. It takes some time to get it right - the last thing you want is for someone to shoot a corner pin and fall on their butt
4. I use powder under the following conditions
a. If a storm has moved through and a bunch of humidity has entered the building
b. I have HVAC issues - no air
c. It has rained for days on end and the building humidity is highLast edited by 8270king; 02-02-2013, 12:07 AM.

I do use Armor Slide on my approaches, but I mix it with IPA 99 alcohol. I use the cap of the Armor Slide jug and fill it six times with the Armor Slide and put it in the spray bottle Brunswick sends their IPA 99 in. I then fill the bottle with IPA 99. It's a perfect mix that cleans and guards the approaches from moisture. I use it once a day on all my slide areas, from the foul line to the trap doors. Also makes the approaches slide like wood.

*sigh* Hello friends..
I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.

Is anyone running the solderless relays on the accelerators? How do you like them? What brand? How difficult to convert was it? Would love the feed back as I'm about to switch...
