  • Counter sink bits

    Hello all,

Was wondering where do any of ya like to purchase the counter sink bits and drill bits used to drill new hole in synthetic anvil pro lane surface to install new screws? Any online sources you use?

    Thanks
    Mike

We use a plunge router with a carbide bit to make the hole in the panel and a regular drill bit to go through the panel. Try to practice on a scrap piece of panel to get the depth right for the plug to cover the screw head.

You can also try a forstner bit . It leaves a flat spot at the bottom of the hole . Not sure if the spelling is correct .

QAMF sells a counter-sinking tool for HPL/SPL. Have you tried talking with Brunswick to see if they sell the tool you need?

Yeah, I'd like a part number too. My lanes don't have plugs and I'd like to start doing them as I need to pull them up.

Yes it does. Wood filler was what we were told to use. Tons-o-fun when you have to pull a panel up.

A little late on this but... RP Fletcher Machine makes the diamond tipped plunge router bits specifically for the bowling industry (all sizes) You'll pay a little more for the diamond tipped bits but they will last a very long time. In fact, I have bits that must be getting close to 10,000+ holes and still cuts like it was new yesterday. Contact info below if you're interested.

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....
