  • LED lighting color/warmth

hey guys....not sure where to ask this question, but here goes....i am replacing my 8ft fluorescent tubes over the lanes and settee areas with new, now affordable, LED tubes...i replaced a couple sets with 6500 rated and they appear similar to cool white...not sure though...used to be daylight and cool white, but have been shuffled over the years and i want to make em right...my question is what color/warmth rating goes over the lanes, and the settees, and the business area..i must add that the LEDs dont use the same color names, instead its a number like 4500 lumens, or 6500k...for brightness....i welcome your input as always, thanks again!

Lumens is a measure of brightness. The number with a K is color temp. Higher numbers are more blue. Try for the same number of lumens as your fluorescent lights. As close as horseshoes and hand grenades is good enough. You don't have to be precise. Most bowling centers use 5,000 K or 6,500 K daylights all the way. Some use 4,000 to 4,200 cool whites over the lanes and settee but make sure the ones lighting your pins are at least 5,000 K and 6,500 is better. Pins turn yellow as they age and lights that are less blue make them look worse.
