Anybody using electronic air cleaners from Pollution Research & Development Corp. How are their products and service?

    Re: Air Cleaners

We have 6 of the units mentioned above. they have been installed for 4 years and we have not had a problem with them. I change the pre-filter once per week, the activated charcoal filter every 3 months and the HEPA filter once per year. The service has been good, they send reminders when the HEPA filters are due. The filters that they supply are a little costly, and I have found comparable filters in the Grainger book. Overall I think they are an 8 on the 1-10 scale. (17 on the 1-20 scale) LOL

      Bill:

What did you have before them, and how do they compare to the electrostatic units ... E.G. Smokeeters???

Thinking of doing this myself, as the smokeeters seem to always get dirty when it's 15 degrees out, making pressure washing an unpleasant experience. :P

Anyone have the honeywell units??? They seem somewhat pricey, but a comparison to the less expensive units from pollution research would be valuable in making a decision.

KL, We also had the "breakfast cereal" type. (SNAP, CRACKLE, POP!!) Hated cleaning them in any kind of weather. Love the Pollution Research units.
