  • 24vac Brunswick Hand Dryer Motor

Has anyone ever played with the idea of converting the voltage from 24vac to 115vac? We have several motors getting loud, or don't want to run at all. I'm not to keen on the idea of spending $260+ on new hand dryers. I know the 115v motors are a little bit cheaper. Just wondered if anyone has thoughts on the idea. Thanks all.

I personally like the 24volt motors, and have had to repair some, all having had the same issues you just descibed. The ball bearings are small, and do not last forever. Usually the bearing on the load side of the rotor is the culprit. I get the bearings from grainger part# 1L001 for 9.44 ea acording to the book. You may be surprised if you disassemble one, how easy, and cheap the repair is to do. Best of luck

If you are looking for bearings - you should sometimes checkout other places - like amazon.com believe it or not - here is a link to the above mentioned bearing for 5.55 FOR 10 of them !! I purchased 100 of the 6205ZZ bearings from him and got them for under 3.00 each.

As Jacko mentioned, repairing them is easy and affordable.

its also no trouble to convert voltage as you have 110vac available in the control box.

            *sigh* Hello friends..

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
