  • C90 Trips Circuit Breaker

I have a C90 that trips the circuit breaker for all my power points under the approach which therefore shuts down all of my ball lifts across the center. I have changed motor with another lane thinking it was the motor. The problem persists. I have established that the ball lift will run no problem on instructomat for 20 mins with no bowling. Just running the lift. As soon as you start bowling balls down after about 6-10 balls the circuit trips. Any ideas where I should be directing my attention. I can't see any obvious wiring problems or wear on cables etc. Im thinking in the control box but it all looks brand spanking new as if the cover has never come off and all wiring is in perfect condition.

Have you changed out your control board?

Unfortunately mice and cockroaches love to make homes in the control boxes as they get nice and warm for them. But to drop the circuit breaker you must be getting earth leakage or it’s overloaded. Check the lead is plugged into the GPO correctly and not just hanging out etc

I have changed the control board and problem persists. Have now found though it not just that pair. While changing the control board i had 3 & 4 (suspected problem pair)unplugged from power and 5 & 6 also unplugged from power while i was swapping the boards. Customers bowling on lane 1 and some on lane 7. Circuit tripped. Electrician came. Replaced Breaker with new one. seemed all good. He left. next lot of bowling. Boom Circuit tripped as soon as a ball hit the c90 v wheel on lane 3 & 4. I am completely lost now.

Good news too is that my biggest most pedantic league starts in an hour and I dont know what the bejesus to expect is going to happen. Thinking a postponement may be best option due to electrical issues UNKNOWN!!!!

I’ve always ran with a pair on it’s own circuit just incase this occurs. You may need to check the GPO’s and wiring. There is not much load put on the motor with balls going up I’d imagine

How many ball returns are you running on a single circuit? I'm running 2 per 20 Amp breaker, although I wish it were only one each.
