Ok, So I am helping out at another center that runs 82-90xli
we are having issues with pins getting jammed on top of the dura bins when the pins dont want to fully come off the distributor belt.

any suggestions are more than welcome

Some things I can think of....

    1. Are the belts grippy enough?

    2. Do they have trouble indexing...are the trip arm rollers free moving, clutch good, etc.?

    3. How is the pin orientation?

Shaggy, I am a good friend of Kenny. If you need my help call me and i will help you on the phone or i will go to the base. Mike 916-595-7346
If it cant be fixed with a hammer, use a bowling pin.

The tripping system sounds like it isn't overly free.. the trip blades get soft and grippy over time.and also dizzy belt could be cause as TJ said.

On mine I have an x washer under the back bumper holding the front of the trip arm alittle down and I took off the back set of rollers so the heads don't get caught at the 7 and 10. After the x washer only a slight trip rod or cable adj.

Hey Shaggy, we get quite a few problems with pins seating properly off the dizzy into the DurabinII, what we did to stop this was make sure the dizzy support post was plumb, then I would adjust the safety link at the back of the dizzy on the left so the trip forks sat about an inch to the left of the head pin bin pocket. I have found the hardest thing with the DurabinII is getting the 4,8,6 and 10 pins to drop into the pockets without bouncing out. For some reason once we had them roughly an inch to the left of center they seemed to run so much better and the 4 ,7 and 8 pins sat perfectly in the bin....

also adjustment for durabin is different from reg.shuttles. thats the funny guage they sent with bins. .also you should have got a kit from amf to install, tho i never put it in my bins are fine.plus all of the above they said helps.i never heard of setting dist. 1 inch to the left.but every center is different.the throw should be set at the 7 @ 10 for a good drop.

I totally agree, but we have few lanes here that when centered they just don't want to feed pins properly, the pin hits the egde of the bin pocket and usually spins the pin around and gets caught under the dizzy at the 8 pin spot...

I put a video camera on the lanes that had pile ups. Every one of them had a different problem.
I'll see you in the streets.

just a quick thing to check, height of the dissy, with the durabin II being slightly higher in the 7 and 10 than the durabin or steal bin assembly, AMF didnt install a spacer washer under the dissy for the durabin however you may want to put it back in if not there for the durabin II

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…

I’ve already repaired a a number of Franklin FE motors using the Bluffton-style end cap and terminal board kit (090-004-582)....

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
