  • Sweep problems

    Hi all,

    Im new to this.
Iv been left in charge while the head tech's in Aussie...nice for some huh...right...problem...i have a lane that when the sweep drops down to the pin deck thats where it stays and doesnt continue the cycle, have to use the sweep contact to return it.
    Things i have looked at
    - Table height (Not over running)
    - Changed sweep micro switches
    - Tryed diff chassis
    - Checked wireing in trunking, found 1 wire loose but didnt fix the problem.

    Help please??
    Thanx

Something is preventing the time delay to run out.

If this happens on first ball only could be the GP switch on the table is bad, out of adjustment, or has wiring issues between it and the front wireway

If on both first and second ball all you get is the sweep dropping to guard and that's it then it could be the OS switch is bad, out of adjustment, or has wiring issues between it and the chassis.

To test if its the GP (gripper protection switch located on the table between the 8 and 9 respot cells if you have it) make sure the cells are open fully. If they are not the switch will prevent the table from running on first ball and damaging the cell fingers. A quick test would be to connect both wires from the switch together without them touching anything, if it then works then its a switch or cell adjustment issue. If not its wiring, could be in the table cable plug or after that.

If its not that switch it could be the OS switch, especially if it happens on any cycle. To test remove both wires and tape them individually, if it then works then its a switch adjustment or switch issue. If not the wiring could be damaged and grounding somewhere between there and the chassis.

That's all I got right now.

If you remove 1 wire from the 1st ball stepper switch on the backend , this will solve the problem , as the switch is faulty (90%) of the problems are switches gone bad,

10mins back from Aussie and problem fixed

Put pinspotter in 2nd ball and try cycling it. If it sweeps and spots pins, but only sits their at guard on first ball, it's most likely a break in your gripper protection switch circuit. As long as the fingers open correctly, you can jum the wire for the sw sw.
