Broken frames part 1

I have this situation on a few lanes. and the best part is that obviously the screw had broken off, so it still in the woodkickback. Firstly I don't know what kind of screw it is/was. Second, would it be worth trying to extract or just drill a new hole close by and drive the new screw into?

I run a Tapcon concrete screw in a new hole. (5/16 inch) or larger.

I had a couple like that, you don't want that unistrut to move and it will. I just drilled another hole and installed another lag bolt into the wood kickback

with the 5/8th shoulder on the lag bolt its about 1 1/2"? 1 1/4" length? looks like 5/16 is about the right diameter mike thanks.

My vote is for using a Tapcon...they are less likely to break

What's a Tapcon screw?

tapcons are designed for masonry anchoring. they are an aggressive thread pattern and are pretty unmistakable due to the bright blue finish. they do have a unique drill bit and usually a hammer drill/impact is preferred for installation.

I get them from Fastenal, not sure if they are all over.
