  • Enviro Link Assembly Frony Roller

Installed Envrio Link Assy to new shaft hinges in 4/21/05. And 3/21/12 a vibration humming sound started as the hinges went back and forth. Removed the roller and put new bearings on the ends and it got louder. Just took it apart and the only wear seems to be on the roller hinge pin area. The links still feel like a new link. The shaft hinges are tight like new. Is the link maybe distorting under a load? What have others found as a cause of Enviro Link Roller failure? This roller did not have a tap run through the threads and had to chisel 4 screws out. The cleaned threads on the other rollers I have taken apart really made a difference with no snapped allen bits.
Well we're safe for now. Thank God we're in a Bowling Center.

Has the link actually failed though?

The link has not failed. I was trying to figure out the vibration noise. The link feels tight as a new one off the shelf. I have seen rollers with more worn parts than this and not make noise. Granted they had bronze links.

did you have the torque on the nylock allan's correct? how loud was your humming noise? not sure if anybody else has had it/heard it but sometimes when a belt is slipping on the rollers it will hum constantly and pretty dang loud.
When you know what to do, everything is easy.

Torque was good. Had to chisel some allen bolts out. Roller body did not feel slick. New rebuilt roller ran with same carpet with no noise.

Go to Walmart, buy a $3 can of teflon lubricant. spray generously in Link Holes & where Link rubs against hinges at the ends.. My assumption also would have been, that sound was just Carpet rubbing against bounce plates, but seein that it runs fine with another roller, must be the roller. So vibration coming from Links or Bearings, and you've already replaced bearings..
