  • Pin holders

I rebuilt a shuttle last week with the Stahl' metal pin holder

They are nice and I have not had one call on the machine

I suspect the old plastic holders were sticky and causing issues

I endorse the use of these pin holders!

Thanks Jerry. So they look okay to you? I was thinking of trying some as I have quite a few with some God-awful rubber ones that are all gummed up.

It looks like one of those old urethane ones from headway industries.

They look fine.....you know how you have that ba$tard lane that messes up once a week...that is lane 9....it has not had a call yet

                They should never wear

The 9 pin butt guide is an old headway urethane one they sold...years ago

Looks like it will also allow the pins to sit a little bit deeper in the bin too. Can you tell what kind of coating is on it?

So this is the same pin holder minus the plastic/urethane/whatever piece encapsulating the metal? Interesting.

The 6 pin on my lane one has those, i wasn't sure if the urethane fell off or if someone made those on purpose. LOL Lately i've been using the black AMF ones with good results. I switch the hardware to hex bolts instead of button head allen's and use keps nuts. Hey what's with the AMF stamped hardened clay/putty used at one location where the tube is for the 6 and ten pin? IMG0288A.jpg

Wonder if it has anything to do with the old counters that hung on the back of the shuttle. Way to see if someone was tampering with the machine back when they were leased?

Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
