  • Leather Dizzy belt

Was working more on shop cleaning and organization. Came across a box of new and old dizzy belts and lacing pins. At the very bottom was an old dizzy belt that was leather. Like the sure-pik straps.Anyone else have one of these? Looks really old.
Failed safety course.Question #1:In case of fire what steps do you take? Apparently 'Friggin long ones!" is the wrong answer.

They are old Pietenpol my friend. Very like Surepik belts, they worked ok didn't stretch too quickly, but got dirty very quickly and slippy.
We used to rough them with a file every so often. I found they kept a good line as they went round the rollers.
Don't think I would prefer them against some newer types, but some of the newer types also leave a lot to be desired.
    Personal taste though.
    Nice to answer you.
