  • BE motor not shutting off

    Hi,

I have a problem with a BE motor on a 82/70 with a MP Chassis.
The BE motor is continously running unless I unpluged it or the general power plug. The pit and general switch (on the back-end panel) do not shut it off.
As soon as I plug the general power plug it starts (with the BE relay in the chassis not activated), if I start the machine and hit the reset button I see the relay switching off then on, but the motor keep running.
Sweep and table are in 0 position.
The ball return is not activated unless I switch on the machine.

    Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help.

BE motor relay is shorted - replace it

Just to be sure the BE Motor relay is "Relay P&B KA5AV 24V" ref: 755 504 006 ?

If yes, I've changed it, it does not change a thing, same problem happens.

Change the board with one that is known good.

BTW - if the B.E. relay was shorted, it would smoke the board - I think Jerry may have meant the B.E. relay was stuck or fused together.
I've had enough of hope & chains.

you could just tap the chasis with a bowling pin, on the front right corner. this will unstick the relay.

Did you verify that the coil of the BE relay isn't continuously grounded?

No one said anything about hitting things. Tapping is a way you can tell if the relay is stuck. Tapping is your friend.
If it cant be fixed with a hammer, use a bowling pin.

I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches
I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
