Reversing combo motor
We have a Westinghouse combo motor that has all of the wires being the same color. When put on a machine, it starts running backwards. Which wires on the terminal board need to be reversed?
Thanks for any input.Tags: None

Combo Motors can't be reversed.
Your windings are shot.
All you can do is try and trace the wires from another comboIf at first you don't succeed, try, try, again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it." -W.C.Fields

from the small pin the pin to the left should be leg from the thermal protect. Then you need an meter, set to omes, two wires should read about 4.1, the other two should read about 1.6. The two that read about 4.1 go on the other two pins that are not small. The other two wires that read about 1.6 goto the small pin and the center. Hope this helps

Start Winding 4.1 OHMS Red & Black or 1 & 4
Run Winding 1.6 OHMS Yellow & White or 2 & 3If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it." -W.C.Fields

ours used to be rewound locally.. and always ran backwards when put on a machine.
By swapping the red and black wires with the ring terminals, from the winding where they connect on the board. This restored the correct rotation.
if you swap the red and black from the plug, at the board end.. you'll run into trouble with your solid state switches.
Having wires all the same colour doesnt help. but if you have the stator on the bench with the board on the right hand side, and the row of 3 terminal on the RH side we swap a wire from the middle terminal with a wire from the bottom terminal. But this may not be right for you if they have been rewound locally. So i do urge caution.

4:1 Timing off..
*sigh* Hello friends..
I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Adapting the Bluffton end cap & terminal board kit to Franklin BE (and FE) motors.
Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…
I’ve already repaired a a number of Franklin FE motors using the Bluffton-style end cap and terminal board kit (090-004-582)....

Turret clutch rebuild
At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
