combo motors.
Helping out another center. Mechanic calls me saying the table motor is coasting. He has upgrade 8270. He replace the brake, accoring to him there is no capacotors. Table still coasting. I told him to swap motors with sweep, if it still does it swap gearbox. My question is why no caps. and how is the start stop circuit of the motor works. the chassis is like the 90's.
thanks.amf 82-70

If you upgraded to XL or XLi, they are in the chassis.
Try stretching the table motor cable over to the sweep motor (even if you losen the cable clamp) and run the table. When the sweep stops, you'll see if the issue is in the control or the motor..

TJ The original XL upgrade used Franklin motors and the caps are in the chassis and the brake is on top of the motor. Odds are he needs to move the gear box or rotate the gearing to get a fresh starting and stopping point. It actually could be the ss contact in the chassis too. I had to order those online before for a place in California.

that why i told them to swap motor/ gearbox first. If it works then swap back just the motor if the problem returns then its the motor. He did say they have one chasis left, but i told them thats the last resort. If he doent have a spare then told him I rather have the coast on the table then the sweep.amf 82-70

4:1 Timing off..
*sigh* Hello friends..
I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Adapting the Bluffton end cap & terminal board kit to Franklin BE (and FE) motors.
Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
Thanks...
