• 5 Conductor Table Motor Cord

I'm looking in the AMF parts book and I see that they only have a 3 conductor table motor cord listed. My table motor cords have 5. Does anybody know what the part number is for this? I appreciate your help!

Im pretty sure the table motor only uses 3 wires. The sweep cable uses 5 because of sweep reverse. I could be wrong though cause i havent dug into the table plug in awhile

Yes only three conductor wire is used on the table motor. I replaced one of mine with some 14/3 extension cord that I had laying around. The sweep how ever uses 5 conductor.

Actually, and this may only be my machines and it seems to only be on the older ones, depending on how the table cord is wired in the wireway it could be 3 or 5 wires at the plug. Best thing to do is open the motor plug and see what you got. But usually it's only 3 for the table.

On the table you have +, -, and ground at the plug plus a jumper between the other two terminals. On some of mine there are 5 wires at the plug with this jumper figured in at the terminal strip. I don't know if this was done after the fact or if it was like this on B machines but that's what I got on some of them and it works fine.

We have converted all our 5 wires to 3 for table by putting a jummper wire in the plug from ct to y. we use a small piece of paper clip as the jumper.

A paper clip and not the correct insulated wire?

I don't want to touch that plug!

Mine have 5. I have seen the 3 with a jumper though. I just buy a spool of wire from Grainger. Went through and replaced them all and got rid of all of the old cracking and dry insulation before they gave me real problems.

I should clarify my configuration. All my machines have 5 wire conductor cord but only three are used with a jumper in the plug.

Paper clip??? Not only is that unsafe but against electrical code. Use proper conductors with proper insulation and proper installation and you won't get some one hurt or killed by getting shocked unexpectedly and fall off the pinsetter or get electrocuted. I don't mean to sound harsh but this is serious stuff.

Ever see what a paper clip does with 120 volts running through it? It glows.

When using the new cable, connections are made: the Black Wire goes to TS-22, Green Wire to TS-20, and White Wire to TS-1A1. No connections are made to TS-13 with the new cable.

We also have the 16/3 SOOW wire with a jumper at the plugs here.

                              I'll just leave this here...
