  • 82-70 with no sweep reverse??

I have a single lane that has been down for quite some time due to the monitor for that lane going out. We are bringing in new monitors and im trying to get everyting is top shape. Upon starting it up and checking everything, I find that the seep motor keeps overheating and the sweep reverse will not run. Im guessing that the overheating is from the motor humming when trying to reverse. Sweep runs forward fine. I have tried 3 different motors, 2 of which had a solid state switch. Tried switching chassis with another lane, even rewired the sweep plug. Nothing seems to be helping and at this point and im kinda out of ideas. When i said it has been down for quite awhile, i know it has been at least 3 months since its monitor died.

Check both the sweep reverse switch wires in the BE box sor bad connection, and the C2A plug sockets. My money is on a bad connection in one of these spots.

I have MP chassis and i have been tryin to run sweep reverse from it. So i dont think its in the back control box.which pins on the c2a plug control sweep reverse? I dont have a wiring diagram on hand.

Replace the M-2 relay. It's the center one of the three.

If you have a sweep reverse switch in the control box, try swapping it with the machine next to it.

Looking at the bowler while kneeling on the catwalk M2 is on the right, closest to the table motor. Doc I meant NO harm at all! Just wanted to clear that up.
Jacob look closely at the white wires on the C1 plug on the bottom row I do believe these are the add-on wires for auto sweep reverse.
If the sweep reverses fine from the rear control panel you can bet it is in the C1 plug since you have tried different chassis with the same result.

Even with MP with a reverse relay inside (M2), the power out to the start winding, whether froward or reverse, goes to the SR switch in the BE control box.
A quick test is make 2 6" jumper wires with insulated alligator clips. Hook the middle and bottom terminals together on each side of the switch and try to have the scoring do a sweep reverse. Don't do this and switch the switch itself, it'd probably melt something
