  • Foul problem

First : 82/70 elco chassis with omega tek and expander. AK micro scoring with magicscore APS chassis on curtain wall. Radaray Plus foul system. The problem is the machine runs a foul cycle when someone fouls but it will not score a foul. It will score actual pinfall. What I have done: changed PSEN and MPU boards in APS chassis, swapped machine chassis, swapped out relays in the box on curtain wall that has 4 relays in it(don't know what it is called),and swapped out the black box (isolator I think) between machine chassis and APS chassis. I have run out of ideas so I hope some of you techs can help. Thanks.

The PFAC board is where the signals come in to the APS chassis. I didn't see where you tried another of those.
I've had enough of hope & chains.

Is the scorer set to give a foul? Mine have like 3 settings. No penalty/ dead ball/ -10 pins. Just a guess.

Where exactly does the scoring get the foul signal from- maybe a loose or bad connection there?

Should be the foul detector - unless I'm missing something. The basic description of what the boards do in the APS is: PFAC - power supply (+12V, -12V, and about 40V for the arrays) and inputs from machine or outside world. MPU - processes data (ie:score) PSEN - reads the info from the arrays via the preamp. I'm still leaning PFAC board or as you mentioned, the foul detector.

Thanks for the info, I thought the PFAC was just power supply. I will try that and let everyone know. It will be next week as I am only part time at that center.

                Good morning,
I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches
I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...
