I loosen the clamp studs on the front arms and give it a kick until square.

...Or pull the side that's shorter. (Keep the clamp stud tight on the side that you are not pulling or pushing on.)

A trick I learned on here concerning the forward shuttle arms.....

Bad parts aside there is an easy little trick to squaring the shuttle, I have tried it a couple of times and it works nicely.

All you have to do it remove the key from one of the forward shuttle arms, doesn't matter which, just pick one. So, unbolt it from the shuttle and take the arm off the shaft, take out the key, and slide the arm back on with the clamp stud still loose and bolt it to the shuttle. Doing this gives you a 'twist adjustment' to the shuttle. Now you can grab the shuttle and 'twist' it until it is perfectly square, then tighten the clamp stud on the forward shuttle arm you took the key out of.

I'm probably going to get the 'this is the lazy way to fix this' nonsense but I don't care. As I see it not only was this created by a BT member but there is no sense really in changing a bunch of other parts when this simple adjustment can make it run just fine (especially when you are on a tight parts budget - or you have to make what you got work). Yeah it's a mod but it works nicely. I have two that have been like this for about 5 years now and the shuttles are still square, and I have not had to touch them at all.

And just to make this well rounded, there is a usual cause to a 'not square shuttle'... either the hanger brackets on the front of the shuttle are not in the exact same place, or there is an issue with the forward shuttle support assembly such as bent arms and/or a twisted shaft or maybe even worn keys or key ways in the shaft with loose clamp studs, as the shuttle position is basically dictated by how these arms are positioned- if you want everything perfect, these arms need to 'hang' exactly the same where it bolts to the shuttle.

So you can hunt down the real issue and change some parts, you can do the little mod I mentioned, doesn't matter. What matters is the end result and whatever you decide to do will be fine.

So take from that what you will.

I just lower the table down to spot, unbolt the rear of the shuttle and drop it down and just square it up by pushing it to one side. Works well
