  • Bin Assembly guides

I'm just curious how many of you still have the 070 -006-380 and 070-006-381 guides on. The center I used to worked at didn't have them.

I use them for the "batwing" mod

I removed all the outer guides on bins 2,3,4,6 years ago - caught them on camera causing funny little pinfeed problems from time to time. I've removed them completely from every bin on 6 of my machines...they've been running like that for over a year without issue. IMO; having them on just causes problems, the only thing I use them for is the "batwing" mod as King mentioned above...

Weird. As i get to my bins, i put them on as im missing all of them across 40 lanes. Havent had them cause any issues

Have them on. They are meant to guide the pins in straight at the 2-3-4-6 although since the distributor is straight at the 5 I'm not sure why they are there. They are only a problem here when they get badly bent or break off otherwise I prefer to use them as they make the pins go in the bin straight.

Same hear I don't have any issues with them apart from them breaking or bending.

Agreed. I never really looked too hard at these pin guides until we installed cameras on the machines. After that, it was easy to see on the footage that they were causing intermittent problems....things that I'd normally consider a misfeed or shuttle issue. (e.g. occasionally with 2 pins in the bin, the bottom of the 2nd pin would stick on the outer guide and fall head first/double shuttle. P.I.T. central!). If your machines are running perfectly I'd say leave them as they are - if you have intermittent problems with pins in the table I'd suggest putting a camera on those lanes and seeing what happens. Just my two cents....

                  They became batwings here too.

For those that made them into batwings, do guys use them on the 4,5, 6, 8, and 9 pockets on each machine? Only on problem lanes/pockets?

I take off the 2,3,4,6 or sometimes bend them downwards.

I've sat on and used a camera on my problem lanes. Sometimes the pin will hang and cause a nasty T/J. If it was my choice I would remove them. The few that I have taking off I've used for the batwing mod.

I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....
