Eric at Stahls reason for NOT welding nuts on ball door is the fact that once you run the bolt through the nut it is no longer a locknut. I seen a interesting idea where the mechanic had holes where the 2 bottom nuts are so he could use his fingers to start the nut and then slip a wrench in to hold it to tighten.

While it would be really nice to have a welded nut on the front bottom tab at least, I also agree with Eric, once you run a bolt through it that's it. Eventhough it's a P.I.T.A to get to that one really it's not all that bad- a long skinny wrench here really helps. In fact I had to change a broken (AMF) balldoor last night and the spare was a Tuffy balldoor, not really that bad a job. I think i got it done in about 20 minutes- p.i.t.a. screw and all.

Does anyone have a picture of these ball doors? And I guess I'm kinda confused why there is a LH and RH ball door... (lol, although I know that the original 82-30 ball lift used 2 ball doors :P)82-70 MP Pinsetters+Humpback/Light Ball Clutch/Rocket Rails

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.
Thanks...
