I have some of the non led boards as well as the green led boards (that change ball cycle at sweep run start) and some red led boards (that change ball cycle at the end) and was wondering which versions these are and if there are any more?

LOL... I only have 12 machines but I have 5 different boards... in addition, some of the boards have Mark 5 chips and some have Mark 5 1.1... one of my side projects has been to get a proper identification of the boards and a parts listing, this has been a bit difficult in some cases as some of the boards don't seem to have a real part number (I have found some Rev F, some Rev H and some Rev P... others have no Rev "letter")... I'll try to revisit this on Friday because I have been wanting to replace all of the electrolytic caps on my boards... will post results with pics if I have time

I think the LED boards (not sure if red or green) are Rev F boards... these boards can be set to fire up the BE motor after the first ball is thrown... if I'm not mistaken, ZOT still sells these boards...

Did a little research... what I found so far
Please feel free to add comment or criticize/correct

Original MP bd was 070 009 810. AMF product but who knows the mfg

I think the next was Yucca. not too many. Was this an AMF board or aftermarket?

                  Then MK4
                  Then MK 5

Then, around 1999, a company called CTI came out with what we call MK6. 1st one with LEDs for all functions.(Ball light LEDs optional for USD$10) Green/red, whatever LEDs were on hand or cheap at the time?)
CTI sold to someone, then they sold to someone else and eventually Zot ended up with it.

I should mention here that every time the company sold ,the price of the board went up $100 or so. In 1999 I had a lightning strike and (insurance) had to buy MP bds. CTI bds were $189 w/o pindication lLEDs

TJ........I think there are only 5 really different MP bds....but with revisions? Could easily be more than 10

Where is Jon (wb8yjf) He has worked on al of these.Speak up pal,or I will call OSHA,DOD,DHS,FBI,SS,FAA,NTSB,FAA,DONR,BLM...did I forget anyone?...FEMA..CIA FCC maybe .. to collect your incandescents

                  Anyone with more info?

Sorry I know even this much. Like I said...I had lightning. Spent a week (twice) figuring what was fried and not. I swapped a LOT of boards
By the way....I still run at least 1 of all the bds I mentioned...kinda fun watching how differently they behave

Most of my boards have 070 009 850 as the part number. A couple only say only that... others say 850 Rev, 850 Rev H, and 850 Rev P. Then there are a couple of Rev F boards. Those are the 5 main board variants I have. I have a couple that say 850 Rev P that have a battery slot and one that is 850 Rev P without a battery slot. I also have one Rev F with manager control port and one without, lol... so that brings the total variants and sub-variants to 7. I believe the boards I'm calling "Rev F" are 070 009 860 Mark 6 boards...

I presume there have been rom chip upgrades on these boards as there are Mark 5 roms and Mark 5 1.1 roms randomly distributed on the 070 009 850 boards, lol... hopefully I'll have a more detailed analysis tomorrow...

Does anyone know what that battery is supposed to be doing?

PS found this webpage that wb8yjf put up with some pics... http://home.earthlink.net/~wb8yjf/wb00033.html

                          MP Chassis Tester

                          Good morning,
I have built a tester for the MP Chassis for the 82-70 machines. Instead of using the cam switches
I am using relays. My question is to anyone that may...

                          *sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Adapting the Bluffton end cap & terminal board kit to Franklin BE (and FE) motors.

Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…

I’ve already repaired a a number of Franklin FE motors using the Bluffton-style end cap and terminal board kit (090-004-582)....

                          Turret clutch rebuild

At what thickness do you replace the clutch face.
Is there a minimum dimension from the clutch face to the rivet.

                          Thanks...

Is anyone running the solderless relays on the accelerators? How do you like them? What brand? How difficult to convert was it? Would love the feed back as I'm about to switch...
