  • Sloppy XL pinwheels?

Does anyone have any mods or ideas for taking the slop out of the 90's pinwheels?

  • #2
I think it is the nature of the beast. I just make sure that the pinwheel strips are in place and that the rollers are good and not broken or chewed up. Be sure your rivets are flat in the strips too as they will cause a bounce.

Yeah have done, Ive also played with turning the roller around which takes a little bit of play away. Just not happy with the amount of movement as sometimes it can mess with pin transfer.

Bowling vision supply a new roller that removes all of the slop.... it's part number BV 090-007-327 ASM @ £23.95. Give Jack a call on 01536 412244
AMF Glasgow have had them on for a while and it's eliminated those pile ups you get from pinwheel bounce.

I currently work on the 90XL and imo this is the worst pinsetter AMF has made to date. Starting with the hokey pinwheel setup to the plastic sweep links(whomever thought this was a good idea should be hung). A very fragile cheaply made machine.
If it cant be fixed with a hammer, use a bowling pin.

I took and replaced that bottom roller with a 8270 pinwheel roller. The Metal ones seems to work the best. It doesn't take all the slop out, but it does help a bunch
Don't go away mad, just go away

                  Good morning,

                  *sigh* Hello friends..

I had a 4:1 go bad and I've never seen or done one before. Trying to search the depths of the forums, YouTube videos, it didn't seem too bad....

Left a rant about this in the bowling forum…

I’ve already repaired a a number of Franklin FE motors using the Bluffton-style end cap and terminal board kit (090-004-582)....
